This twig necklace is in sterling silver and has been created from a branch of a beech tree from the woodlands near Leixlip Co Kildare. Home to the Guinness family and Leixlip Castle these woods have been witness to stories of the landing of the viking longboats to the brewing of the first pint of Guinness. The beech tree is symbolic of creativity, understanding and wisdom and is sometimes refered to as the "mother of the woods" with its protective broad canopy.
